Recent Achievements
Some recent achievements include:
- Supporting the City as a Party in the City’s defense of Official Plan Amendment 231 (OPA231) at a recent Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT). - Advancing the need for a robust transportation system to move goods and services in Toronto and the GTA.
- Maintaining the Block 2 industrial water rate and working to simplify the Sewer Use By-law,
- Endorsing the need to separate storm water management charges from water supply charges for all properties,
- Encouraging the city to adopt strong land use policies that will protect its Port.
- Supporting the current policy of not applying Development Charges to new industrial construction,
- Advocating for competitive property taxes through the continuing reduction of the ratio of industrial property tax to residential tax, and
- Advocating with Toronto Hydro to improve system reliability.
